Log time on MOCO projects in Jira

Be sure to finish the configuration of your personal connection settings first. Without that you can not log time and sync it to MOCO.

If you want to log time in Jira and sync it to MOCO you have 4 different options to do it. We will explain every option on this page.

Option 1: Issue detail view - Actions

  1. Click on the three dots to open the “Actions” menue.

  2. Click on “MOCO Log time”.
    → A dialog will open.

By selecting customer, project and task, it is determined here to which task the time recorded in Jira will be synchronized to MOCO.

  1. List of customers in MOCO that you are allowed to see.

    1. Has to be selected before you can select project and task.

  2. List of projects in MOCO that are related to the customer that has been selected in step 1 and that you are assigned to in MOCO.

    1. Has to be selected before you can select a task.

  3. List of tasks in MOCO that are related to the project that has been selected in step 2.

  4. Here you can write a short work description of what you have done. This will be saved in the MOCO field “description”.

    1. By default the combination of issue key as a tag (Mobile Zeiterfassung & Optionen | MOCO) and the summary will be shown here. You can just overwrite it if you want.

  5. Here you can select the date for that you want to log the time.

    1. By default it will show the current date. Of course you can change it to another date.

  6. Enter the amount of time you want to log in Jira and MOCO. You can enter the time in 3 formats:

    • H:M, for example 00:30 for 30 minutes

    • Decimal number, for example 0,5 for 30 minutes

    • Time in units such as w(weeks), d(days), h(hours) or m(minutes). For example 30m for 30 minutes.

    • Numbers without a unit are converted to the format H:M. For example, 2 is converted to 02:00.

  7. Here you can add the Remaining Estimate for the current issue.

    1. The value is automatically updated when the time spent (6) is entered.

    2. You can use the normal Jira formatting like “2w 3d 6h 45m” for Remaining Estimate.

  8. This field displays the Original Estimate of the issue and is a read-only field.

  9. Click on “Save” to log the time in Jira and MOCO. The dialog will close if everything was successful.

  10. You can close the window by clicking "Cancel". The time will not be logged in Jira or MOCO.

  11. You can close the window by clicking the "X". The time will not be logged in Jira or MOCO.

  1. Click on the button with the play symbol ▶ (If you do not see the button, have a look at the information at the top of this page).
    → The timer will start running (counting up).

When the timer is running, you have the following possibilities:

  1. The currently measured time will be displayed.

  2. To pause the timer, click on the button with the pause symbol (⏸).

  3. To log the time from the running timer, click on the “Log time with timer” button.
    → a dialog will open

  4. To reset the running timer to 00 : 00 : 00, click on the button with the reset symbol.

When the timer is paused, you have the following possibilities:

  1. The currently measured time will be displayed.

  2. To continue the timer, click on the button with the play symbol (▶).

  3. To log the time from the running timer, click on the “Log time with timer” button.
    → a dialog will open

  4. To reset the running timer to 00 : 00 : 00, click on the button with the reset symbol.

  6. The time determined by the timer is automatically entered here. If you want, you can adjust the time in 3 formats:

    • H:M, for example 00:30 for 30 minutes

    • Decimal number, for example 0,5 for 30 minutes

    • Time in units such as w(weeks), d(days), h(hours) or m(minutes). For example 30m for 30 minutes.

    • Numbers without a unit are converted to the format H:M. For example, 2 is converted to 02:00.

  1. Click on your Profile Icon

  2. Click on the menu option “MOCO Timers”

  1. Table column with the keys of the issues that have active timers.

    1. When clicking on a key, you will be redirected to the corresponding issue.

  2. Table column with the summary of the issues that have active timers.

  1. Open the detail view of an Issue e.g. by clicking on the Issue Card in a Kanban Board.

  1. Shows how much time has been logged and how much time remains to resolve the issue.

    1. When an orange bar is displayed and you hover over it, the logged time over the original estimate is displayed in a pop-up.

  2. Displays the original estimate.

  3. If checked, the time bar shows the aggregated time for this issue and its subtasks. This is also possible for parent epics with child issues.
